Dont let Ruto mislead you

Cord leader Raila Odinga has told residents of western Kenya to ignore the promises that Deputy President William Ruto continues to make in order to woo the vote rich region.

The Cord leader said that western Kenya leaders and residents should ignore the advances made by Ruto to have them join the Jubilee Party. Ruto has backed up his calls with promises of roads construction and other projects to be undertaken in the region.
Western Kenya has often been split between support for Odinga on one side, which enjoys the most support and President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy Ruto on the other side. Jubilee is now keen to wrestle control of the vote rich region from Cord and lead them to Jubilee with many promises that Odinga dismisses as mere talk.

Besides being a frequent visitor to western Kenya in hunt for support, Ruto onn Sunday, December 27, 2015, advised the opposition Cord to follow Jubilee’s footsteps by disbanding all affiliate parties and form one strong party for the purpose of unity of all Kenyans. Cord however told Ruto to keep his advice to himself or quit Jubilee if he was serious with his remarks.

said Odinga as quoted in the Nation.
Odinga further said that President Kenyatta should crack the whip on his deputy, whom he claims keeps contributing KSh 50 million each week at fundraisers. Odinga and Ruto have been exchanging words over the fundraising issue, with the former questioning the latter’s wealth.

Odinga claims that he knew Ruto very well, the two having worked together as close allies before breaking ranks months after Odinga become Kenya’s prime minister in 2008.
As prime minister, Odinga and former President Mwai Kibaki named Ruto as Agriculture minister. However, Odinga suspended Ruto over the infamous maize scandal in which billions of shillings are said to have been lost.
“President Kenyatta should stop making promises about fighting corruption and instead take action against his deputy who has been traversing the whole country donating up to Sh50 million per week in fundraising meetings,” Odinga further said.
