Who Raila Has Removed From His Eurobond List

Raila- Odhiambo And Nyaoga Don’t Belong On Eurobond ListRaila Odinga, the party leader for CORD, has backed off on associating two high ranking officials with being involved with the Eurobond saga.
Raila has now stated that Mohamed Nyaoga, the chairman for the Central Bank of Kenya and Agnes Odhiambo, the controller for the budget, didn’t have any involvement with Eurobond issue.

Raila told the Daily Nation about the Eurobond list issue: “We just put Ms Odhiambo’s name there by virtue of her position. That’s the same thing with the chairman of the Central Bank. What we said is that, as the chairman of the Central Bank, he has a public duty to convene meetings of the board and to discuss these issues and to guide the public. We never said he was involved in any way in a negative sense.”
Raila claimed that Odhiambo and Nyaoga had only been included within his controversial list as their positions mark them as “persons of interest” in the Eurobond saga.

“A person of interest does not impute improper motive or that you were involved in corruption. Not at all. I think the media needs to change this. Because other people now feel that they are thieves. That is not true at all. I have no issue with Mr Nyaoga. It’s only that he’s the Central Bank chairman. The same with madam Agnes Odhiambo,” Raila continued.
Nyaoga is expected to lodge a defamation suit against Raila in court within the coming week.
Other officials Raila named on his Eurobond list include:
Joseph Kinyua – Chief of Staff in the Office of The President
Henry Rotich – Treasury Cabinet Secretary
Patrick Kamau Thuge – Treasury Principal Secretary
Prof. Njuguna Ndun’gu – former Central Bank of Kenya Governor
John Birech- Financial Markets Director at Central Bank of Kenya
Moses Muthui- Financial Management Director at Central Bank of Kenya
Benard Ndung’u – The Director General, Accounting Service at the National Treasury
The CORD leader listing names caused waves after he made the list public on Thursday, January 14.
The Director Of Public Prosecution (DPP) Keriako Tobiko identified holes in a file that had recommended the closure of the Eurobond investigations.
