Joseph Boinnet Explains Why Two Cops May Be Sacked

Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet has explained why two traffic police officers could end up losing their jobs after blocking Uhuru Kenyatta’s motorcade.
Joseph Boinnet said that far from blocking Uhuru, the two were caught taking bribes hence causing a huge traffic snarl-up.
The two,Barnaba Rutto and Joel Atuti have been given dismissal notifications and will face a disciplinary committee which will determine their actual fate.

Joseph Boinnet said that CCTV footage had captured the two taking bribes from motorists.
“CCTV footage showed the two cops taking a bribe. They had also parked badly causing huge traffic jam,” said Joseph Boinnet as quoted by The Star.
The newspaper had carried an earlier  story of the two cops having been completely dismissed from the force and given seven days to appeal.

This was after Uhuru Kenyatta apparently saw them taking bribes and made calls to the police top command to have action taken.
In defense, the two had said that they were actually trying to arrest a matatu driver who had packed in the middle of the road.
