Gospel Singer Bahati Quits Music After Allegedly Receiving Death Threats From Fellow Artistes

Unconfirmed reports indicate that gospel wonder boy Kevin Bahati has allegedly quit music just days after he alleged that his life is in danger.

The former street boy started the year 2016 with controversy, especially after he had accused his compatriot Daddy Owen of denying royalties to singer Denno with whom they had done the hit song Mbona.
Bahati is said to have called it a day in music after what reports from some quarters say is continued threats on his life and career from colleagues in the gospel industry.
“I have decided to quit gospel music for now. I have decided to follow my heart. Gospel artistes, my very brothers, have been meeting secretly and plotting my downfall. I have so much pain in my heart. It is not worth being in the gospel industry now. At this rate, this hate will even get me killed. If they can even go to an extend of looking for my relatives and other people close to me to bribe them and have them cook lies about me, then aren’t they ready to do anything to finish me,” Bahati told SDE.
The singer has had a long standing feud with his nemesis in the gospel industry Willy Paul, and their differences played out recently when Paul blasted him of causing discomfort in the industry.
In a 601-word rant, Willy Paul reminded him of how he is fond of accusing fellow artistes of things they have not done all aimed at tarnishing their names.

Bahati has also had a run-in with gospel brothers Daddy Owen and Rufftone, and he seems to believe they are the ones behind the alleged threats he is receiving.
“If the fathers of the gospel can stand out and fight me, the small Bahati I am, then, it really gets funny. The gospel industry is no longer about glorifying God. It is no longer about a call. Am taking a break to think of what next,” Bahati told the news portal.
Efforts by Tuko.co.ke to reach out to the singer for comment hit a snag has his phone has been switched off for the better part of the week.
Bahati has also gone missing from social media, with his accounts cleared and disabled as details of his whereabouts still remain scanty.
