Kabete Member of Parliament Ferdinand Waititu has finally spoken regarding the bribery case involving Evans Kidero and a Supreme Court judge.
Ferdinand Waititu now wants the ruling on his election petition that was challenging Kidero’s election as governor thrown out and a fresh hearing instituted.
The self-proclaimed Baba Yao believes the KSh200 million bribery case involving Kidero and the judge greatly influenced the outcome of the election petition.
Waititu contested for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat against Kidero and emerged second but challenged the outcome which he lost at the High Court.
He proceeded to the Appeal Court where he lost again but the latest revelations now have him thinking he could have lost unfairly.
On January 24, a journalist-Geoffrey Kiplagat- claimed that he was the facilitator in the KSh 200 million bribe and even provided evidence of text message conversations between him and the judge.
In August 2014, Supreme Court quashed an appeal by Ferdinand Waititu again, on grounds that he filed it past the 30-day deadline.
As a result, the court confirmed Evans Kidero’s election as Nairobi governor.
The judge in question is Justice Tunoi and the scandal ropes in William Ruto’s lawyer Katwa Kigen.
Both Kidero, Kigen and the judge have denied any knowledge of the bribe although the judge is currently under investigation by the Jucial Service Commission.
Ferdinant Waititu was to later vie for the Kabete parliamentary seat after it fell vacant following the demise of George Muchai who was killed by a gunman in Nairobi in 2014.
