When Mudavadi Will Launch Political Party For 2017

Musalia Mudavadi, the party leader for the Amani National Congress (ANC) has announced that the party will launch it’s presidential campaign for the 2017 general election in June of 2016.
The effort will come as part of an attempt to popularise the ANC with voters ahead of the 2017 elections. The upcoming election has largely been predicted to be a two horse race between incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta of Jubilee and Raila Odinga the CORD party leader.

The ANC has been actively engaged in a recruitment drive in Western Kenya, traditionally considered a stronghold for Raila.
Godfrey Osotsi, the Secretary General for the ANC said in a statement on Wednesday, January 6: “Our main focus at the moment is to ensure people register as voters. ANC will conduct a voter registration drive for one month starting February 15 to March 15. We have lined up promotional activities and hope that by March, our party’s presence will be felt in all the 47 counties.”

The goal is to strengthen the ANC against the strong opponents that it will face from Jubilee and Cord in the upcoming election cycle.

The leader of the ANC’s interest in running for the office of President has peaked in recent days with him announcing that he intends to run for the office of President on Monday, January 4.
In recent days the leader has further accused the the Jubilee government of attempting to steal the 2017 general elections by intentionally withholding funding from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Mudavadi previously ran for President in the 2013 general elections, placing third overall in the voting.
