Eugene Wamalwa Tells Mudavadi To Forget The Presidency

Water and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa has openly told former Deputy Prime Minister and Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi to forget about the presidency come the 2017 general elections.
Speaking during the Maragoli cultural festival in Western Kenya on Saturday, December 26, Wamalwa who was in the same event with Mudavadi and other leaders from the region said that there is no way Mudavadi can become president with the likes of Moses Wetangula and Cyrus Jirongo vying for the same seat.
“Musalia I can tell you for free, wewe ukienda, Wetangula aende, Jirongo aende, do not expect ya kwamba Wetangula atakuachia, itakua vigumu kidogo. Usifikirie Jirongo atakuachia. Itakuwa vigumu kidogo. Yule tu angekuachia ni mimi (Musalia I can tell you for free, if you vie, Wetangula vies, Jirongo vies, do not expect that Wetangula and Jirongo will step down for you. It is a bit hard. The only person who can do that for you is me),” Wamalwa said.
His words came after Mudavadi had announced that he is in the race for the presidency come the 2017 general elections.
“Niko kwa lami natafuta kazi. Na ile kazi mimi natafuta ni ile Uhuru anakalia (I am on the way seeking for a job, and the job I want is that held by Uhuru). Katika Kenya hii tumekuwa tukigaganywa (here in kenya we have always been divided) either you are in CORD or you are in Jubilee. This is dividing the country all the time,” Mudavadi had said early on in the event.

However, his close ally MP Ayub Savula told off Wamalwa and reminded him that Mudavadi will make it come 2017.
“Musalai Mudavadi I am telling you the truth. Your struggle of today is your strength of tomorrow. We don’t want to see Jubilee moles surrounding you. We don’t want to see ODM sycophants surrounding you. We want to stabilize you to become the next president of the republic of Kenya,” Savula said.
But Wamalwa maintained that the Luhya community has been doing the same thing the same way and therefore the results are bound to be the same.
Savula reminded Wamalwa that Jubilee should prepare for a war come the next general elections.
The Luhya community is believed to be an opposition stronghold but in recent times there has been talk that it is time the community supported one of their own in the coming elections.
The leaders, however, have not been able to agree on who front to battle it out with CORD’s Raila Odinga and Jubilee’s Uhuru Kenyatta.
