"Arrest Waiguru" MP's call

MPs call for the arrest of Waiguru

CORD members of parliament have asked for the arrest of former devolution cabinet secretary Anne Waiguru, the MPs say Waiguru is guilty of the mess at NYS
– Jakoyo Midiwo one of the MPs also said the jubilee government has crippled the country with its corruption scandals
Four opposition members of parliament led by Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo have called on the arrest of former devolution cabinet secretary Anne Waiguru.

The members of parliament want her arrest as they claim she is responsible for the KSh791 million NYS scandal.
Midiwo said Kenyans were tired of losing billions due to corruption scandals.
Midiwo also said CORD will kick out Jubilee from power as the party was only interested in looting the country instead of development.
“Kenyans will no longer sit and watch as billions of shillings are embezzled, corruption has now become an epidemic in Kenya under the Jubilee administration and we cannot allow it.” Midiwo said.
Other members of parliament who supported Midiwo in the calls for the arrest of Waiguru were:  Nicholas Gumbo (Rarieda), Florence Mutua (Busia) and Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati.

Anne Waiguru resigned from the cabinet on November 21, 2015 after leaders, especially from the opposition, demanded that she takes responsibility for the scandals in her ministry and also pave way for investigations.
In December the same year, Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officials raided her home in Nairobi’s Kitusuru estate, as well as the residences of other former top officials in the devolution ministry, in order to look for evidence that could link them to the NYS scandal.
EACC CEO Halakhe Waqo then wrote to Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua, on Thursday, February 4, stating that the commission had found no evidence to link the former minister to the theft.
