Governor Ruto tells Duale and Murkomen to return NYS money

Ruto’s message to Duale and Murkomen after being implicated by Waiguru

– Aden Duale and Kipchumbe Murkomen were adversely mentioned in Anne Waiguru’s explosive affidavit
– Calls have since intensified from within their own camp (Jubilee) for them to step aside
– They have, however, denied any wrong doing and told Waiguru to carry her own cross

Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has thrown his two cents into the fresh saga involving leaders in the Jubilee government Aden Duale and Kipchumba Murkomen.
Speaking in Bomet during the swearing in ceremony of newly elected Nyongores ward Member of County Assembly Andrew Maritim, the rebel governor said that it is time those mentioned in an explosive affidavit by former devolution cabinet secretary Anne Waiguru take their own cross and return the money they allegedly stole from NYS.
“We should not engage in protracted political rhetoric over this matter. Those named in Waiguru’s affidavit should return the money acquired fraudulently,” Ruto said as quoted by Citizen Digital.
The Bomet governor and Aden Duale do not see eye to eye after the two almost came to blows in 2015 when Duale attacked him with the infamous phrase, “Hii pesa si ya mama yako bwana (this money is not your mother’s).”
Duale was responding to the governor’s call for increased funding for county governments by the national government.

It took the efforts of those present to calm down the governor who boiled with anger as Duale continued with his rant in the presence of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.
Ruto’s latest call comes after Duale, who is the Leader of Majority in the National Assembly and Kipchumba Murkomen, who is Deputy Majority Leader in the Senate, were mentioned in an explosive affidavit by Waiguru, linking them to the involvement in the stealing of more than KSh791 million NYS money.
In the affidavit, Waiguru alleged that the two tried to intimidate officers in her former ministry to allow the embezzling of the funds.
“On June 18, 2015, Aden Harakhe was texted and called by Aden Duale who advised him that he required political support and that leaders from his region came from URP,” the affidavit reads in part.
About Murkomen, Waiguru said: “Senator Murkomen passed the message from his clients stating that I should tell DCI to drop the investigations and said I would face unspecified consequences if I did not adhere to these demands.”
However, the two have since denied the accusations with Duale telling Waiguru to carry her own cross and probably see a psychiatric because she has run mad.
“It (Anne Waiguru affidavit) is laughable, let her carry her own cross. Those are the last kicks of a dying horse,” Duale said before adding that Wiaguru needs to see a psychiatric.
Already two Jubilee MPs, Alfred Keter of Nandi Hills and Oscar Sudi of Kapseret, have demanded that the two step aside to pave way for investigations into the allegations.

Keter is remembered for trying to impeach Waiguru while she was in charge of the ministry but his motions were shot down by Duale and other Jubilee MPs.
