CORD is wasting time of Kenyan

Two contenders for the parliamentary seat in the Malindi by election have dropped out of the race in favor of their rival, Jubilee’s Philip Charo.
According to the Star, Fuad Kombe (Federal Party of Kenya) and Peter Ponda (Chama cha Uzalendo) opted out of the race saying they believed that Jubilee was the future for Malindi.
“We have every confidence that Jubilee’s Charo will carry the day in Monday’s, March 7 by-election,” said Ponda.

Speaking at the same campaign rally, Deputy President William Ruto welcomed the move as he continued to urge Malindi residents to support Jubilee instead of their opposition, claiming CORD had done nothing for the country when they were in power.
“In the five years Raila Odinga was the prime minister, he failed to resolve issues such as land. There is nothing they can do for you compared to Jubilee who have so far issued more than 300,000 title deeds in the last two years,” said Ruto.
He said that Raila was only good at rhetoric and his close allies like James Orengo are no better.
“Orengo did not do anything for you when he was the Lands minister in a previous administrations. Jubilee on the other hand has accomplished much more in the time we have been leading compared to the other governments combined,” added Ruto.

The race for the Malindi seat has been touted to be a two-horse race pitting Jubilee’s Philip Charo and CORD’s Willy Mtengo as the top contenders for the seat.
A recent opinion poll conducted by Trends and Insights for Africa, CORD’s candidate was reported to be the likely winner with 61% of the coted followed by Charo with 29%. Conducted between February 26 and 28, a margin error of approximately four percent was noted.
EAST Africa Dataline Consult also had similar outcomes placing Mtengo in the lead with 54% and Charo in second place with 33%.
Others candidates are: David Mangi (Shirikisho Party of Kenya), Reuben Katana (Kadu-Asili), Ali Attas Shariff (Labor Party of Kenya), and Nelson Gunga (Federal Party of Kenya).
